All the computers in the internet cafe cannot access the Internet, and the indicator lights on the aggregation layer switch flash. After investigation, it was determined that the problem was caused by a broadcast storm. A redundant network cable inserted on the switch was used by company employees and the other was inserted on the switch, after the RJ45 interfaces at both ends are connected to the port of the same vswitch, a broadcast storm is triggered throughout the network. After unplugging the network cable, the problem is solved.

This kind of wiring failure is mainly caused by chaotic management. When we complete the structured wiring, we should take away excess cables and equipment to prevent common users from connecting them.

In addition, do not leave any parts after wiring, because users are generally not familiar with the network, and when problems occur, they are very likely to be in urgent need of medical treatment. If they see redundant equipment, they will be used at will, making the problem more serious.

Some network administrators prefer to use devices like binary head without authorization, which may cause broadcast storms in the network.

Iii. Electromagnetic Interference

Machines in a certain area of the Internet cafe cannot connect to the network. Replacing the NIC, motherboard, or even the motherboard does not help. It is suspected that there is a problem with the vswitch connecting to the region. However, after replacing the vswitch, the problem still exists.

The original Internet cafe moved the refrigerator, which was originally placed far away from the Internet cafe's business area, to facilitate customer consumption, to the other side, while the network cable was just below the refrigerator. After the refrigerator is removed, machines in the area can access the Internet normally.

Generally, a high-power electric appliance will generate a magnetic field near it. This magnetic field will work on the nearby network cable and generate a new electrical field. Naturally, the signal will be weakened or lost.

4. network access points should be "redundant"

When resizing or replacing a port in an Internet cafe, you may often encounter interfaces that are not "redundant. You cannot purchase additional devices for Internet cafe resizing. However, if you only find some faults in the network, you may need to replace the interfaces occasionally. In this case, if you purchase new devices, investment in Internet cafes is obviously inappropriate.

Redundant Network Cabling considerations

Although the Internet cafes are in the age of small profits, their bandwidth is getting wider and wider day by day. Today, Internet cafes use 10 Mbps of bandwidth, and may upgrade to 20 Mbps or 30 Mbps tomorrow. Some Internet cafes even upgrade their bandwidth to mbps for competing customers.
