Domain name Quotient 2014 Annual Report: The total number of new Internet domain names dropped to 285,000

IDC Commentary Network (idcps.com) January 22 reported: According to the domain name statistics agency WEBHOSTING.INFO data, during 2014, the new network interconnection performance is poor, the overall trend of decline. As of December 29, 2014, the total number of domain names has been reduced to 285,705, the annual net decrease of 30,832, and last year, a net increase of 43,782, the contrast is very obvious. As shown in Figure 1, during 2014, the total number of interconnected domain names in the new network is a ladder-like distribution, the overall downward trend is obvious, has fallen to 285,000. According to the characteristics of large fluctuation of monthly net increment curve and many fluctuations, it is known that the growth of new network domain name is not stable. In addition, it is noteworthy that the net growth of the new network was only achieved in January, with a negative growth rate of 11 months and a 4-digit number.

According to Figure 2, in 2014, the domestic domain name market, the new network interconnection development situation is not optimistic, its total number of domain names from 316,537 to 285,705, a total net minus 30,832. A closer look at Figure 2 shows that the total number of new net connected domain names is declining for up to 11 months, and the decline is relatively large. The only net growth in January, only a net increase of 205 domain names, is low-rise, by this want to the tide is tantamount to a drop in the bucket. Correspondingly, its domestic share has been falling, eventually falling to 3.1028%, or about 1.22% per cent.
