Network Sharing is more reassuring! Sharing is more exciting because of security.

The network is wonderful for sharing. However, when enjoying the benefits it brings, do not forget to make it safer:

  1. Higher Level sharing

If you use Windows XP, the default file sharing settings are only one or two simple options. Each user can access the shared file, which is less secure. However, you can set a higher level of security sharing: open "Resource Manager", select "Tools> Folder Options", and click the "View" tab to remove "use simple file sharing" (recommended) from the "Advanced Settings" list) "check box (1), click" OK "to return. In this way, when you share folders, you will find that the number of sharing settings is significantly increased (2 ). You can not only add remarks and set the number of users allowed to access the shared folder at the same time, but also set detailed permissions and cache.

  2. share files in different roles

By default, you can use all the shares on your computer as long as you enter the user name and password you have set correctly. You can select "start"> "set"> "Control Panel", double-click the "user and password" icon, and create a new user, such as CFan, and set the password (if you are using Windows 2000 Server/Advanced Server, add it in "Administrative Tools ). Right-click a shared folder, select the "share" command, click the "permission" button, delete all users, and then click the "add" button to add a CFan user (3 ). In this way, when you log on to our computer, you can use the shared folder only by entering the CFan user name and password. If you enter another user name and password, you can only log on to your computer, but you cannot even see the corresponding shared folder. This technique allows multiple users to use different shared folders. Of course, sharing is generally set to read-only, which can effectively prevent viruses. If you are using Windows XP, you can also click the "advanced" button in the "Security" tab to set the most detailed permissions, review, and so on.

  3. Cut off remote hacker's hand

In Windows 2000/XP, all the drives (such as drive C or D) on the computer are automatically shared using names such as drive letter $ (such as C $ or D $. These drives do not display the shared hand icon, but hackers may remotely connect to the computer, get the administrator password, and access all hard disks! Open Registry Editor, go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESystemCurrentControlSetServicesLanmanServerParamaters], and create a dual-byte value named "auto‑wks" in the right pane, set it to 0 to disable disk sharing for management, which is much safer. If you want remote control, you can set it to 1 and lengthen the administrator password.
