Ice cream sandwich (Android 4.0) marks an important milestone in Android design. We designed almost every pixel in the system, extended the design method in the honeycomb tablet, and applied it to all mobile devices. Starting with the most basic elements, we introduced a new Roboto font and enhanced the Design for High-Resolution display devices. Other major changes include the system framework-level operation bar and support for new devices without physical buttons.
We focus on core applications and the design of the entire system in three main objectives. When designing applications for the Android platform, consider these goals:
Immersive
Beauty is not just skin. Android applications have a sense of fashion and affinity at multiple levels. The dynamic effect runs smoothly and clearly. The layout and layout are more concise and meaningful. Application icons are more artistic. Like a well-made tool, your application should be combined with beautiful, simple, and objective to create a magical user experience.
Simplify life
Android applications make life easier and easier to understand. When people use your application for the first time, they should be able to intuitively understand the most important features, and the design work needs to consider this. Android applications process routine things, such as file management and synchronization. Simple tasks never require complex steps. complex tasks should be tailored to users' hands and brains. This allows everyone to feel control, and does not allow users to have too many options or irrelevant information.
Amazing
It is far from enough to make applications easy to use. Android applications should allow users to try and use the applications in a new way. Android allows people to organically integrate with applications and create new workflows through multi-task, notification reminder, and application sharing. At the same time, with superb technology, clear and elegant sense of people's needs.
Design principles
These design principles are the best interests of the Android User Experience Team. When designing Android applications, consider them so that they do not deviate from the design purpose.
