Broadband Access MethodDivided into: FTTBBroadband Access,ADSLBroadband access,PPPOEBroadband access and PPPOE authentication methods:
1. FTTB broadband access
FTTB + LAN (FTTB) optical fiber to the building
1) leased line access:
No dial-up is required for leased line access. The installation is simple and the upstream/downstream bandwidth is 10 MB. This billing method is monthly.
(2) PPPOE access;
After the pppoe dialing software is installed on the client, the local server uses the radius server for billing and authentication.
2. ADSL Broadband Access
ADSL uses an ordinary telephone line as the transmission medium and provides 8 m download bandwidth. The 1 m upload bandwidth is fast and the transmission distance can reach 3000 m-5000 m.
1) leased line
The ADSL device provides transparent ATMPVC channels. The ADSL-Modem adopts the 1483-bridge Protocol. The IP address of a single user PC and the access port of the Access Server are set on the same network segment. To ensure data security, you can add a routing device on the user port.
2) PPPOA Method
The PPPOA method is initiated by a PC. The ADSLmodem requires 25 m of ATM port to connect to the user PC using the RT45 header through five lines. The user PC needs to plug in the ATM Nic and install the client software, establish a PVC connection between the atm nic and the Broadband Access Server.
3) PPPOE
The user's PC is connected to the ADSL-modem through the 10baseT Ethernet port. PPPOE needs to install client software on the user's PC. When you need to access the Internet, you only need to start the client software. Establish a PPP connection between the PC and the Broadband Access Server. After successful authentication, assign an IP address to the PC.
4) routing Mode
ADSL-modem supports routing, which is particularly suitable for LAN access.
3. PPPOE broadband access
PPPOE includes two phases: PPPOE discovery phase and PPPOE session phase.
The PPPOE discovery phase includes four packets: PADI, PADO, PADR, and PADS.
4. PPPOE authentication method
AAA generally consists of user terminals and AAAclientAAAserver billing software. The radius protocol is used between the client and the server. The common authentication methods between user terminals and clients include PPPOE, DHCP + WEB, and IEE802.1Q.
1) PPPOE has strong user control capabilities, but its network performance and equipment processing efficiency are reduced, which easily leads to traffic bottlenecks.
2) The DHCP + WEB mode does not have special encapsulation. After the hostage passes, it can be directly forwarded, regardless of whether it passes or not, it occupies the IP address. In addition, a high number of authentications will affect the authentication efficiency.
3) 802.1Q is separated by data channels and authentication channels, which ensures high network performance and device processing efficiency. IP addresses are allocated after authentication is passed, and authentication efficiency is high.
This is the introduction of broadband access methods. We hope you can master these basic concepts, this is because you may encounter these things when handling broadband access services.
