According to foreign media reports, Microsoft recently admitted that it is investigating a new vulnerability in Internet Explorer that allows hackers to implant malware in Windows XP computers.
This vulnerability was discovered by Maurycy Prodeus, an analyst at the iSEC Security Research Center, and released attack code. Prodeus said that IE7 and IE8 users are affected by this vulnerability.
In response, Jerry Bryant, Senior Manager of the Microsoft Security response center, confirmed that "Microsoft is investigating the vulnerability. The result is, windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Server 2008 R2 are not affected."
Bryant also said there are no signs that the vulnerability has been exploited by hackers. Due to user intervention, Microsoft rated the vulnerability as "medium", but some security experts rated it as "medium ".
