Ubuntu in virtualbox uses bridging to access the Internet

1. Open virtualbox, select [settings]-[network], and change the connection mode to [bridged adapter]

2. In ubuntu,

Run sudo gedit/etc/Network/interfaces

Modify as follows:

Auto Lo

Iface lo Inet loopback

Auto eth0

Iface eth0 Inet static

Address 172.17.1.178

Netmask 255.255.255.0.0 # change it to your mask here

Gateway 172.17.1.111 # change to your gateway here

Run sudo gedit/etc/resolv. conf

Modify as follows:

Nameserver 172.17.11.31 # Domain Name Server

3. Run/etc/init. d/networking restart to restart
