More than two pc,internet access mode for broadband access in LAN

1. The network structure diagram is as follows

Description: The gateway host has two network cards, in which the network card A1 through ADSL, Cable Modem or Ethernet port (more out of now broadband residential district, intelligent commercial building and campus network), such as broadband access to the Internet, network card A2 with hubs or switches connected, In the same LAN as PC1 and PC2. PC1 and PC2 each have a network card with a hub or switch connected to the LAN, through the shared Gateway host Internet connection to the Internet. If you add a PC to your local area network, you can access it by simply connecting the new PC to the hub or switch.

2. Settings for Gateway hosts

The operating system is Windows XP, the Start-> Control Panel-> Network and Internet connection-> network connection, you will see the connection icon for two network adapters.

"Local area Connection 1" is the network card A1, connected to the Internet, and "LAN Connection 2", which is the network card A2, is linked to the network. The TCP/IP settings for local area Connection 1 should vary according to different broadband access modes, either by automatically obtaining IP addresses and DNS or with fixed IP addresses and DNS (provided to you by your ISP), and users should be configured with instructions provided by the ISP, No details are given here.

Now we're going to share this Internet connection, right click on "Local area Connection 1"-> "Properties"-> "Advanced", "Internet Connection Firewall" and "Internet Connection Sharing" three hooks,

When you press OK, a dialog box prompts you to change the TCP/IP settings for the other network card and press Yes.

This allows sharing to be enabled, and the NIC icon becomes this way.

Now we look at the TCP/IP settings for local area Connection 2, right-click the local area Connection 2-> Property-> Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) "->" property ", see that the IP address is set to 192.168.0.1 by the system.

This IP address is modifiable and is subject to the specific requirements of the user of this local area network, but in this case we do not make any changes and press Cancel to exit this dialog box. The gateway host is set up and has shared Internet connectivity and firewall capabilities to protect all machines within the entire LAN from unauthorized access.

3. Configuration of PC1 in LAN

The operating system can be any network operating system, in addition to the Windows family, can also be Linux or UNIX. Simply set the IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and DNS of the network card. IP address set to the Gateway host network card A2 on the same subnet address, but can not be repeated, the subnet mask and the Gateway host network card A2, the default gateway and DNS set as the Gateway host network card A2 IP address. If you are a Windows XP system, you can set the following figure.

After the confirmation, open IE will be able to access the Internet, of course, if the gateway host has been connected to the Internet.

4. Configuration of PC2 in LAN

PC2 settings and PC1 basically the same, but the IP address is different, such as the example PC1 IP address is 192.168.0.2, then the PC2 IP address can be set to 192.168.0.3, as long as the net is not used in the notebook IP address on the line. (Computer science)

5. Firewall settings within the gateway host

If the gateway host turns on Remote Desktop (as described in the Windows XP remote experience) and firewalls are turned on, other online users on the Internet cannot remotely log on to your system. But if you want an expert to remotely log on to any PC in the local area network (including the gateway host, this PC to have the function of Remote Desktop, to help themselves solve the problem, then do the following: (with just the gateway host to illustrate the example) right click "Local area Connection 1"- > "Properties"-> "Advanced"-> "" "" Remote Desktop ", enter the IP address or computer name of the machine to be logged in by the expert, click" OK "three times to complete, the expert can login to any PC in this local area network through the firewall.

The same way, you can control the local area Network Web services or FTP services can be opened to the outside, as long as the same as just as the hook and choose a different service.
