China's General administration of customs February 14 released statistics showing that in January this year, China imported crude oil 21.8 million tons, an increase of 27.4% per cent, imports amounted to 14.181 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 50.8%. Over the same period, China imported 3.85 million tons of refined oil, an increase of 51.3%, the import amount of 2.605 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 67.9%. The same month, China imported 68.97 million tons of iron ore, an increase of 47.9% per cent, the import amount of 10.443 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 145.7%. Imports of steel 1.64 million tons, an increase of 21.6% per cent, the import amount of 2.027 billion U.S. dollars, the year-on-year increase of 35.2%. The statistics also showed that in January this year, China imported 364,200 tons of forged copper and copper, an increase of 24.7% per cent, while imports amounted to 3.364 billion U.S. dollars, up 57.8% year-on-year. Export, the General administration of customs disclosed that in January this year, China exports 1.43 million tons of coal, a year-on-year decline of 21.3%; Exports of 212 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 40.4%. Over the same period, China exports 2.14 million tons of refined oil, a year-on-year decline of 20.7%; exports of 1.396 billion U.S. dollars, a year-on-year decline of 17%. Exports of steel 3.12 million tons, an increase of 8.2%, exports 3.205 billion U.S. dollars, year-on-year increase of 44.1%.
