Read the notes:
Chapter One why the user experience is so important
1. User experience: How the product is "in contact" with the outside world (contact) and "play a Role" (use).
2. At the outset of the site, the key to success was "first time", which is now providing a quality user experience.
For example, content sites need to convey information effectively, in ways that help people understand and accept. Efficient communication is a key factor in determining whether a product is successful or not.
3. User-centric Design (user-centered): A way to create an engaging and efficient user experience. In each step of developing a product, the user is included in the scope of consideration. Break the user experience down into components and learn from different perspectives.
Chapter II recognizes these elements
1. User experience development, five levels:
2. The basic duality of website design
Web page as the interface of software--the design problem of "application software"
Web page as hypertext system--information publishing, retrieval angle
Chapter III Strategic level: website objectives and user needs
Question:
What are we going to get from this site?—— site goals
What do our users want from this site?—— user needs
1. Website Target:
Brand Recognition (Brand identity): It can be a conceptual system, or it can be an emotional response that can be formed in the user's mind.
Success criteria (Success metric): A number of traceable metrics that can be used to show whether the site meets our own goals and the needs of our users.
Note: Site goals should be avoided too specific or too broad.
eg. too specific: such as "provide users with a real-time communication tool based on Java", can not explain how the tool to support enterprise goals or how to meet user needs.
Too broad: It's not clear what the site does if you use business goals to make money & save money for your company.
2. User needs: Who are they? What are their needs?
(1) User segmentation
Demography
Psychological factors
Users ' views on technology and the Web page itself
The user's knowledge about the content of the website
If a scenario cannot meet multiple requirements at the same time: ① is designed for a single user; ② provides different ways for different groups of users to perform the same characters
(2) User research
Tools: Questionnaires, interviews, focus groups--collecting common views and perceptions
Other tools: User testing and field surveys--for understanding specific user behavior and information about site interactions
You can try creating personas, also called user models or user profiles, to make your users more realistic
3. Team Roles and processes
Identify the target responsible person, the consulting company sometimes find a strategic expert. Strategic experts talk to decision makers and ordinary employees to produce visual documents (Vision document).
Strategic documents need to be used frequently.
Strategy should be the starting point in the design of the user experience process, but it does not mean that the strategy needs to be fully identified before the project begins, and that the strategy should evolve and improve.
