The keychain API now adds a new approach to the application key that cannot be exported from the device, even if the system is compromised. A new KeyStore provider is also included in the system to create security keys that cannot be viewed by other applications. Private KeyStore keys also cannot be exported. Finally, the/system partition now organizes applications to execute SETUID programs (thus turning off some vulnerabilities) and Android now uses the SELinux mandatory access control system.

Developers will also have more fun in 4.3. First, the system adds a flood of notification options, primarily for individual applications to inform system-level notifications. This requires the permissions of the end-user, but the listening API can deliver rich information, including the starter application, time, content, priority, and release status. Developers will also see many new options for transparent overlay, custom rotation animations, fast lock rotation, and access to Quick response text features.

As Google mentioned at the press conference, Android 4.3 now supports the new Bluetooth API, including Low-power Bluetooth (new Nexus 7 and Nexus 4 only), and Bluetooth smart-ready, designed primarily for low-bandwidth applications. These features for watches and remote control accessories such as equipment to bring a small convenience.

Android 4.3 now supports OpenGL ES 3.0, the latest version of the OpenGL API for mobile hardware and other low-power systems. 3.0 provides support for new options, including shaders, texture compression, and other complex graphics under 2d/3d. Similarly, extended software playback controls can now access control for speed and location. Flat-panel devices are now faster to boot, and the Daydream feature is now able to navigate through albums and folders.
