Fusion-io Acceleration Support Enterprise SAP program time-saving

As a plug-in accelerator for existing SAP applications or into a new solution for the SAP hana® platform (provided by leading solutions providers such as Cisco, Dell, HP and IBM), Fusion Iomemory products are used to provide real-time performance across many SAP solutions throughout the data center.

SAP and Fusion-io products have helped many global customers achieve business success. Wulzburg University Hospital, which provides comprehensive medical services for 1.5 million people, is one of the oldest hospitals in Germany. The hospital runs a medical information system based on SAP ERP applications and is used by thousands of doctors, nurses, scientists and administrators.

To improve performance and support new SAP capabilities, the hospital's IT team moved the entire database, including temporary tables, to mirror fusion iomemory, increasing the response rate for thousands of of users. The solution lowers the cost of capital by 33% and increases the processing speed of the SAP ERP system by 2-5 times, allowing hospital staff to stay productive rather than wait.

Even during the upgrade phase, the Iomemory speed also compresses the hospital downtime to two hours, rather than the estimated five hours. "The Fusion ioDrive2 is 2-5 times faster than the average, in fact the improvement is obvious," said Klaus Stärk, head of the hospital IT system. ”
