BMC Software commissioned a full-scale survey of security issues related to IT automation commissioned by Forrester Consulting, and the findings of the study sent a warning to CIOs around the world.

More and more IT departments have begun to improve the efficiency through automation technology and greatly reduce human error. For example, with the intensification of commercial competition in China, the major companies are facing the pressure of requiring more efficient work efficiency at the same time based on the reduction of expenditure. 51% of Chinese respondents believe that an overall increase in IT efficiency will be a key IT goal for FY2012. However, a survey of the world shows that the vast majority of enterprises are using multiple automation technologies simultaneously, and 90% of them said they have encountered major problems.

A Survey of Industrialization of IT Workload Automation conducted a survey of 472 IT decision makers from the United States, Europe and Asia Pacific to gain insight into the trends in job scheduling technology. Job scheduling system is the backbone system for large and medium-sized IT systems because it defines, controls and manages millions of daily tasks that must be handled to ensure the normal operation of the enterprise.

As the pressure to work on big data, business analytics, cloud computing and mobile devices continues to escalate, the number of tasks that need to be addressed is also rapidly increasing. In addition, with the rapid growth of businesses, mergers and data center upgrades, the company found more workload automation technologies were being used at the same time and the associated risks also increased. The vast majority of respondents viewed IT workload automation as a centralized solution because it handles all job scheduling regardless of the hardware, application, or location they are using.

In terms of improving IT efficiency, respondents in China and those in other markets have prioritized the following approaches - standardizing infrastructure, automating IT processes, and improving processes. Because organizations want to streamline their business processes to maximize their ROI, respondents are placing a great deal of attention on the impact of workload automation on physical costs, satisfaction, and productivity gains.

"We believe this survey clearly shows the respondent's need to focus on an existing workload-automation solution to ensure timely delivery of services, increased productivity, compliance and increased business user satisfaction. Customers shift from competitors to use our products and share the same view, "said Saar Shwartz, BMC Marketing Director.

The results of the global survey show:

· 90% of respondents using multiple automation technologies said they have encountered major issues such as critical job failures, missing documents, and excessive manual intervention.

· 76% of respondents said workload automation can reduce manual operations and errors.

· 73% of respondents said that workload automation has a huge impact on the satisfaction of enterprise users.

• Address increasing business needs and greater control without adding IT staffing resources. 55% of respondents viewed end-user self-service as an extremely important feature of workload automation.

· 69% of respondents who used workload automation said they can save at least two full-time employees working hours. Seventy percent of respondents said they saved 10 or more people working hours.

• The efficiency brought about by workload automation is crucial, 63% of respondents said they are planning to support or implement new technologies, while 50% of respondents said they plan to launch this year by introducing new IT or Business services to promote innovation.
