On October 22, HP CEO Hurd at Gartner's Symposium/itxpo show yesterday that cloud computing is not safe enough to handle critical data. According to foreign media reports, Hurd pointed out that cloud computing services-especially outside the corporate firewall services need more "excellence" to provide sufficient security. Commenting on the potential of cloud computing, Hurd said, "From a security standpoint, there are still a lot of problems to be addressed to ensure the development of cloud computing." Hurd admits that many of the external cloud computing services are great, especially consumer-oriented services, but there is a high risk that companies will use these services.
