Recently, according to foreign media reports, digital newspaper kiosk application Lekiosk today in the United Kingdom launched the iphone and ipad version. Some publishers want to use it to improve the decline of the real-press business, making content display more interesting.

Lekiosk is the top-grossing ipad app in the French Apple App Store. In France, 1 of every 4 ipads are fitted with this 3D application. So where is Lekiosk's charm?

The function of digital newsstand

Lekiosk is an iOS digital newsstand app that consumers can use to easily buy and read magazines. The application displays the contents of these magazines in a fascinating way, giving the reader a sense of what it is like to read a physical magazine.

You can create a virtual library, put in your favorite content, and read them at your convenience. And, like the real-world newsstand, you can also browse through all the magazines provided by Lekiosk and buy or subscribe to them at once.

You can choose Lekiosk's "10 Magazine 10 Pounds" monthly package, but note that not all magazines sold on LEKIOSK support this package.

Lekiosk UK users can browse, probation, and buy magazines in a 3D-rendered British newsstand.

In addition to the gorgeous visual effects, Lekiosk's content is also impressive. Publishers such as the BBC and the Lekiosk have signed up with the two, so the app can offer about 100 magazines to consumers today as soon as it is launched. Lekiosk says the key to success in France is to sell it in packages and show it in an interesting way.

Consumer surveys

Consumer research commissioned by Lekiosk has shown that 1 out of every 20 Britons have started reading magazines on tablets, but up to 36% of British consumers have expressed interest.

The study also shows that Britons like to read magazines on tablets for a number of reasons, including access speed, the portability of digital media, the convenience of buying content at any point in time, and so on.

So, while you can't draw a moustache on a photo in the physical press, it's good to read a magazine on a portable device.

Michael Fillip (Michael Philippe), co-founder of Lekiosk, said the changes in content presentation and consumption patterns in the press had also occurred in other media:

"The shift that the magazine industry is going through is very similar to what happened in the music industry a few years ago." Future readers will be reading magazines on a flat screen. Most publishers have realised that allowing mobile consumers to get what they provide is good for them because they can provide the same rich visual experience for magazine consumers in a more convenient way. Publishers are willing to work with us because we are committed to helping them sell magazines and provide the best reading experience for consumers. ”

A YouGov study shows that 38% of Britons now have fewer magazines than the recession started. The survey showed that 70% of people read magazines not before because of the cost of magazines, 42% of people because they are too busy now, not so much reading time, more than 10% of consumers because the market is too many magazines and lost interest.

Views of publishers and industry people

Lekiosk and publishers who support the app argue that an increasing number of readers are buying and reading digital magazines through digital devices such as smartphones and tablets, a phenomenon that can offset the decline in the income of the entity magazine.

"Of course the vast majority of physical magazines should be digitized, but it is another issue to make it easy for readers to find the right content," one industry official commented. In other words, it is one thing to publish what attracts readers, and it is another matter to present them to the reader. Lekiosk, as a newspaper kiosk in the digital age, provides readers with a sense of familiarity with buying magazines in the real world, and it may be an effective solution.

The UK version of Lekiosk now supports only the iphone and ipad, and its Android apps will be launched in September this year.
