According to foreign media reports, Japan Instant chat application line in Thailand launched the online grocery delivery services. At the same time, line parent company Naver also plans to promote the service in other Southeast Asian countries.
Naver company said in Monday that its "Cheap throaty throaty (absolutely cheap)" online grocery service will be on February 4 in Thailand. Thailand is now the second largest market in line after Japan, with more than 33 million active users. If successful, the service can help ease the pressure on naver in financial markets. Last week the company released disappointing quarterly results.
Line does not give the financial details of the service. With nearly 600 million of consumers in South-East Asia, these consumers are starting to use online services to buy products and services more and more. Especially with the spread of mobile devices, more and more people are beginning to accept mobile E-commerce. But the growth of the mobile end is hampered by imperfect mobile payment schemes and unfriendly user interfaces.
Although Southeast Asian consumers are keen on online shopping, those in the Philippines, Vietnam and Singapore are more likely to use traditional electricity-dealer websites to buy items. Line's online grocery delivery service offers products that include water, coffee and noodles, with a maximum discount of up to 50%.
