Time can make people forget everything. 2 months ago, the OpenSSL software's vulnerability to "heart bleed (Heartbleed)" shocked the entire internet. But after two months, a lot of people have forgotten this matter. According to a report by Errata Security, more than 300,000 servers are still running patches of OpenSSL, all opening doors to malicious attackers.
When the Heartbleed vulnerability was first exposed, errata found more than 600,000 affected servers after scanning the server's usual port 443. One months later, the figure dropped to 300,000. But a few days after the scan, unexpectedly only dropped 9000. It seems that many server administrators do not move to a "generally considered very serious security issue".
