WSJ: What do you think is the biggest challenge facing Intel today?

Rennie James: Development in the computer field is accelerating, and we must step up our efforts to advance development in this area. From data centers to hyper-Mobile (ultra-mobile) devices, such as tablets, telephones, wearable devices, and computers, they are experiencing exciting and disruptive transformations. To cope with these transformations, Intel needs to step up its efforts in addition to the traditional field, and not miss any computing opportunities. For example, since August this year, we have introduced more than 40 new products to the market and will increase our focus on hyper mobile devices in the future.

WSJ: In the next 10-20 years, do you think Intel will continue to be the world's largest semiconductor manufacturer or will it gradually increase its efforts to transform software and services-oriented enterprises?

Rennie James: To become the world's leading semiconductor manufacturers and expand their business to include semiconductors and software and services in areas such as will remain our goal. This will not make us less concerned about the semiconductor business, they are complementary.

WSJ: Intel is now developing an Intel TV (Internet TV). When will this product meet with consumers?

Rennie James: We will continue to test this product and update it. We have no updated news yet.

WSJ: How will intel ensure that it is at the forefront of innovation?

Rennie James: Intel will take more action in the service and software sectors, especially in areas such as security, making the user's Internet experience more secure. Some of the products we develop will include wearable technology and watches. Our goal is to make the industry to create more excellent products.

WSJ: Intel is uniting Samsung to develop a mobile operating system called Tizen. Why is it necessary to develop an operating system that is different from Android and iOS?

Rennie James: On the open source, we have always contributed a lot of power. We have spent a lot of time on the mobile Linux operating system and have worked with Nokia to develop the Meego operating system. Although this operating system has been deprecated, it has finally become a useful attempt to develop the Tizen operating system. But of course, Nokia's strategy has now changed. Operating systems are not as important as applications. Third-generation OS systems also have space, but it also requires companies with the same capabilities as Samsung, which can give users a new experience.

What are the biggest challenges facing the Wsj:tizen operating system? We haven't seen Tizen phones from Samsung yet.

Rennie James: That's the problem with the application (creator adoption). It depends on the developer. This is the biggest challenge of the moment.

WSJ: More and more customers are developing wearable devices in your company. This means that semiconductors need to be smaller and more distinctive. How does Intel prepare for this trend?

Rennie James: We've been trying to make products smaller and more integrated. The products we build today are small enough to fit any type of screen. We have released a product line that has now been used by the "quark" (Quark) platform, and a number of emerging devices are also manufactured on this line.

WSJ: Intel's cash levels are rising, exceeding 11 billion dollars at the end of the third quarter of this year. So are you going to launch more mergers and acquisitions?

Rennie James: We've been digging for acquisitions. In the past, we have found a lot of good mergers and acquisitions. Our strategy has not changed. We will continue to focus on mergers and acquisitions opportunities. We have spent a lot of time in the area of security. For the moment, we have nothing new to announce, but we have always been interested in this area. We also have a lot of good equity investments in the Asian market.

WSJ: What opportunities will intel face in the Chinese market? Will China's market reform increase?

Rennie James: There is great development and innovation in the Chinese market, and the price of products will be downward trend. We have cooperated with many partners in the south of China, which brings new possibilities for our future growth.
