Viewing the Earth desert from space-stunning desert landscapes (NASA's official large resolution original download)

Through the lens of the Earth's orbit satellite, we were able to overlook the magnificent desert landscapes of the Earth from the sky, from the vast dunes of the Sahara desert to the skin-like folds of the Arabian Peninsula, which are no surprise.

This is largest desert, also known as Carville Salt Desert (dasht-e kavir), from space to look at its color is very attractive. The uninhabited desert is nearly 500 miles in length, about 200 miles wide, and is named after the huge salt marshes in the desert (kavirs in Persian, meaning "salt marshes").

In the middle of the picture is the Carville salt desert in the big Marsh, on the west side of the large salt marshes there is a huge salt lake, called "Darya-ye Namak", which contains many large mosaic-shaped salt blocks. The area is an ecologically protected area of 4000 square kilometres-the national park of Canaveral (or the Salt Marsh National Park).

The Namib Des. in the following figure stretches more than 1200 miles along the Atlantic coast of southern Africa, creating coastlines for Angola, Namibia and South Africa.

Namib Des. The weather is very dry and the most precipitation is only 200 mm. The desert began at the southern end of Angola, ending in Western Cape Province, South Africa's Olivenz. As you move inland, you can almost immediately reach the more famous Sahara desert. Namib Des. is also the world's oldest desert, and its semi-arid state has lasted about 5500 to 80 million.

Bramborbo (Brandberg massif) is the highest peak in Namibia in the Damaraland area of northwestern Namib Des.. The lush green vegetation in the mountains contrasts with other parts of the Namib Des.. Because of extreme climatic conditions, the vegetation here is very peculiar in appearance. And while there is no human habitation, there are many unique animals living here.

The yellow dunes of the Ikidi desert are lined in strips, stretching from Algeria to Mauritania in the Sahara Desert.

This is a large sandstone rock springing up in the flat desert landscape, in the south of Australia's Northern Territory. The rock will appear in a day of color change, and there are numerous fountains, pools, caves and ancient rock paintings around it. As a guide, the Ancients guided visitors around the Uluru, and briefed them on local flora and fauna as well as local Aboriginal legends.

As can be seen from the satellite images, a large number of oases dotted the vast desert, the natural flow of water pouring into the valley between the dunes.

The most densely populated country in the Arab world is actually made up of deserts. This stunning picture shows the complex and varied terrain in Egypt's harsh desert areas, including continuous sand dunes, banded chalk and rocky landforms.

In the south of Libya, there is a vast desert area, its length is more than 1000 kilometers. From the above picture, this desert is like an ice and snow environment, but in fact it is almost all covered by Shahuan and dunes, and occasionally there will be rock spikes. A rocky mountain range called "Jebel Uweinat" can be seen several miles away.

The Rubhali Shahai on the Arabian Peninsula is the world's largest mobile desert with an area of 660,000 square kilometres. The Sand Sea is also the Arab space (Empty quarter), covering a large area of the peninsula's central and southern regions. Because of the difficulty of walking through, so that the vast area has never been human settlement.

Dasht-e Lut, in the southeastern part of, recorded the highest terrestrial temperature on Earth. NASA satellite observations from 2003 to 2005 found that the surface temperature of the dasht-e Lut Salt desert had reached 70.7 degrees Celsius, and the air temperature near the ground was much lower.

The Unianga lakes are located in the Sahara desert in Chad. These lakes are in a shallow basin, with less than 2 millimeters of precipitation a year, supplemented by ancient groundwater. There is no second case in the world for such a large area of freshwater in the Ennedi region, where the Sahara is extremely arid.

Seeing the Sahara from space, these ancient rocky structures look incredible, but in close proximity we can enjoy some of the world's oldest rock art hidden inside. Scientists believe that these rock paintings and carvings can be traced back to 12,000 years ago.

In the desert of Mauritania, the satellite photographed this terrain, known as the "Reichert structure," like a grotesque eye. The elliptical Reichert structure is thus called the Sahara Eye. It is about 40 kilometres in diameter and has been severely eroded. The terrain was initially thought to be a meteorite impact formation, but geologists now believe it may have been formed by the rise or erosion of the geologic structure.

This vast sea of sand in the south of the Arabian Peninsula covers an area of 583,000 square kilometres. Seen from space, this area is like the surface of a human skin.

In the Gobi Desert of northwest China, there is a complex, puzzling white line. The vast Gobi Desert is situated in the northwestern part of China and the southern part of Mongolia, about 1000 miles in length and about 500 miles wide. The Gobi Desert is a rain-shadow desert, and the rolling Himalayan Mountains block the rain clouds from the Indian Ocean, making the area drier and less rainy.

A serpentine desert river in the Taklimakan Shamo of northwestern China. The Taklimakan Shamo 85% is made up of mobile dunes. The southern tip of the desert is the famous Kunlun vein, while the Pamir and Tianshan Mountains are located in the west and the north, while the Gobi Desert is located in the east. Although it is very dry, there are also some oases in the desert, from the mountains of precipitation and Rongshui to form the river in the diagram.
