When Ubuntu and Windows are installed on both systems, the time of Windows and Ubuntu systems is not synchronized. This is because Windows systems use the time of hardware systems such as the bios of the motherboard as the OS's local time by default. MAc, linux OS uses the Time of the hardware system such as the motherboard bios as the UTC time, and the time of the operating system follows the UTC standard to add, subtract, and decrease according to the user's time zone settings. This has led to a very interesting phenomenon for Chinese users: Ubuntu takes 8 hours faster than windows; does it mean Ubuntu is better than windows ?).
To solve this problem, refer to a method circulating on the network:
1. Disable UTC; command used:
Sudo gedit etc/default/rcS
Note that "rcS" and "S" are in uppercase; Change "UTC = yes" to "UTC = no" in the displayed content"
2. At this time, the original "fast" time is still displayed. You can use the network time server for correction;
Sudo ntpdate pool.ntp.org
Note: The linux server address correction is demanding. It must be linux, and ntpd and time services must be enabled. I have verified many servers, and I still work to find this pool.ntp.org. I would like to give it a thumbs up. of course, you can add it.
3. You can consider writing the corrected time to the hardware system.
Hw clock
4. It's done! Enjoy it.
