A perfect tutorial on coexistence of Windows 10 and CentOS Systems
I recently learned about Linux and thought it was very easy to use. But because Windows 10 was installed in the system, I had to re-divide the disk so that Linux and Windows systems can coexist with it:
- Install Windows 10
- Windows 10 disk Division
- Install CentOS7 on a USB flash drive
- Enable USB flash drive
- First CentOS
- CentOS Installation
- Bootstrap fix
- Summary
Install Windows 10
Since windows 10 is relatively simple to install, I will not discuss it here, so as not to delay everyone's time. For details about the installation process, refer to the connection provided for help.
Windows 10 disk Division
After the Windows 10 system is installed, we can divide the disks. Some people say that not all the systems have been installed. Why do we need to divide the disks? This is because we need to install the Linux operating system, the storage formats used by Windows and Linux are different, so we need to separate a region for Linux.
Install CentOS7 on a USB flash drive
After the disk is divided into Linux regions, we can proceed to the next step. This step is to write the content of the Linux CD to the USB disk, insert the written USB disk into the USB, and set the BIOS, we can install centos 7 on Linux.
Enable USB flash drive
When we insert the installed Linux USB flash drive into the USB interface, we can restart the computer under Win10 at this time. After the computer is restarted, the computer will prompt related information when it starts to display the Logo, for example, the mini-editor's computer prompts you to press the ESC key to enter the settings. Some computers may be different from the mini-editor. You can select the information displayed on the screen and press the corresponding key, the BIOS settings page is displayed.
First CentOS
After all the above work is done, we can use the USB flash drive to boot into the initial CentOS interface,
Have you seen it? The above prompts some installation information. The first line is the title, the second line is to install CentOS 7, and the third line is to test the media (storage device) before installing CentOS 7, the fourth line is to check and fix existing problems. The fifth line is to prompt us to press the [TAB] key to configure some configuration options. This is very important. The small editor has fallen into many pitfalls here, the reason is that every time I press the [Enter] key, I thought I could install CentOS intelligently. Finally, I found that I could not find the location, the reason is that we need to manually specify the installation source location of CentOS. This location is naturally our USB flash drive. If we don't talk about it much, press the [TAB] key and we will enter the shown area:
After pressing the [TAB] key, a long string of characters will appear below. It doesn't matter. We only need to modify some of the characters below, that is, to specify the location of the USB flash drive, for more information, see [modify the CentOS installation source].
CentOS Installation
After completing the preceding operations, we can enter the graphical installation interface,
Installation information Summary
The summary of the information is configured according to your preferences, but here we will mention the system-> installation location, because we have divided a region for Linux, so here we don't know how to use it automatically. here we need to manually operate partitions, for example:
There may be a gap with the actual drive letter. For example, the hard drive of the small series is GB, because we allocated a unused area to Linux, at this time, the unused area will be displayed at this location. The Linux partition we need is divided based on this, because the previous section divided the 50 GB area for Linux, so the following is my divided solution:
So far, our CentOS7 has been installed, but the problem is that after you start the system, you find that the MBR of your Windows10 system is gone, so it naturally enters the CentOS7 system. It doesn't matter, in the next section, we can fix MBR.
Bootstrap fix
Although Linux has been installed, the startup Item of Windows cannot be found. What should I do at this time? Naturally, the system boot of Windows 10 is fixed first. How can I fix it, this requires the use of old peach or cabbage.
After burning the old Mao Tao USB flash disk, set the system to boot the USB flash disk and enter the Windows PE system. After Entering the PE system, we can use the drive genie (DG) to repair the MBR.
After restarting the system, we will go to the Windows 10 familiar interface. Of course, you will find that Windows MBR is recovered, and Linux is gone again, therefore, we must use the tool to restore both of them. In this case, we need to download EasyBCD.
Summary
At this point, we have completed the perfect coexistence between the two systems, and we only know the twists and turns, so I hope that people like me can take less detours.
