The ANSYS totem is a transistor-grade power supply noise and reliability simulation platform for analog, mixed-signal and custom digital designs.
Totem's core technologies include factory-certified extraction and simulation engines embedded in a powerful GUI environment to support layout-based results analysis and design remediation. The software enables the analysis of large, full-chip designs, including encapsulation and substrate parasitic parameters, with spice-level accuracy. It can help designers meet the increasingly stringent power and reliability requirements for IP and/or analog and custom designs.
The totem can be used to verify and accept static and dynamic voltage drops for custom macros or IPs (analog, custom digital, memory). It also helps meet power and signal electrical Migration (EM) requirements. Several foundries have certified Ansys totem as the EM and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Rules for Advanced technology nodes (20/16/14NM).
In addition, totem can create detailed models of IP and verify that these models are properly connected at the SOC level, and that poorly designed or noise-coupled causes do not adversely affect all-chip-level operations. Totem's model generation capabilities help provide seamless IP integration at the SOC level for full-chip mixed-signal authentication.
Totem has been successfully used in chip measurement for multiple technology nodes. It can be used from the beginning of the design phase through the prototype design until acceptance.
