It took an afternoon to build your first yum server and client in RedHat.
Preparations for setting up the yum experiment are as follows:
YUM Client must ensure that the following software packages are installed:
Yum-3.0.1-5.el5.rpm
Yum-metadata-parser-1.0-8.fc6
Install the following software package for YUM Servr:
Yum-3.0.1-5.el5.rpm
Yum-metadata-parser-1.0-8.fc6
Yum-rhn-plugin-0.4.3-1.el5
Yum-updatesd-3.0.1-5.el5
Createrepo-0.4.4-2.fc6.noarch.rpm
Yum-arch-2.2.2-2.fc7.noarch.rpm [B]
Start the experiment:
1. Configure the server:
1: We need to use the content in the linux installation image, so we can set parameters on the vmwarevm first.
2: Create a folder to store the rpm package. In this experiment, I created a directory/vmware/rhel5/Server.
3: cp the rpm content under the Server package in the linux installation image to the directory above
4: createrepo/vmware/rhel5/Server
5: Configure/etc/yum. conf .. For example:
6: service vsftpd restart. :
Ii. Configure the client:
Modify the rhel-debuginfo.repo under the/etc/yum. repos. d/directory (it is best to save one copy before modification)
Here, baseurl is the place where I store the rpm package, that is, the yum source address. Enabled indicates whether to start the repository, 1 indicates to start, and 0 indicates to disable.
Since then, our yum server and client have been ready!
