According to this survey, the most commonly used server operating systems of Ubuntu users are still Windows, while the Linux version ranks third, while the UNIX version ranks third. in Linux, Ubuntu has the highest proportion, others are Red Hat Enterprise, Debian, Centos, SuSE Linux Enterprise, and Fedora. most of the enterprises surveyed are located in Europe and North America, dominated by technology services, followed by software and education institutions.

Canonical also asked respondents about cloud computing. more than half of respondents thought that the cloud environment could be used to perform key tasks, in addition, more than of respondents thought Ubuntu could be used as a basic cloud computing development platform, but asked if there were plans to execute tasks in the cloud environment, less than of respondents said they had plans.
The survey not only showed that respondents had a strong desire to add Ubuntu servers to the data center in the medium and short term, and pointed out that the most popular Ubuntu platform is Ubuntu 8.04 long-term Support (LTS ). the general technical support period of Ubuntu is 18 months, but the long-term support version provides security update technical support for the desktop version 3 years and server version 5 years.
