Iftop is a real-time traffic monitoring tool that does not have a statistical function. it looks intuitive like top.

Installation environment

Operating system: CentOS 5.6

Kernel: 2.6.18

Network: Gigabit Ethernet

Install dependency packages 
Yum install gcc flex byacc libpcap-devel ncurses-devel
Compile and install source code

: Http://www.ex-parrot.com/pdw/iftop/download/iftop-0.17.tar.gz

Compile and install:

Tar zxvf iftop-0.17.tar.gzcd iftop-0.17./configuremakemake install
Run 
Iftop
Iftop important parameters
  • -I: specify the NIC
  • -B: traffic is displayed in bytes units.
  • Press q to exit
