CentOS6.4 install BCM4313 wireless NIC Driver

After a few days, I finally got it done. I found a lot of information on the Internet. The speed of the 3G network card on mobile is really poor and unstable. I can imagine how difficult it is. OK. Now let's take a look at the installation process. Because it is a several days of intermittent installation, it is not very clear, just for reference.

First, check whether your Nic is 4313

[ienter@ienter ~]$ /sbin/lspci | grep Broadcom

After the BCM4313 Nic is confirmed, we can install the driver. The bcma driver in 6.4 conflicts with the driver in 4313. Therefore, disable the bcma driver and add it to the blacklist, this prevents the server from being enabled again at the next startup.

# rmmod bcma# echo "blacklist bcma" >> /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf

In this case, some netizens suggested disabling all wireless modules in the system, including "b43" and "ssb". If they cannot be used after installation, try again. And add them to the blacklist.

To install the driver, check whether gcc and kernel-devel have been installed.

# rpm -qa | grep gcc# rpm -qa | grep kernel-devel

If it is installed, forget it (you can also install it, for the sake of security). If it is not installed, install the two

# yum install gcc# yum install kernel-devel

After the installation environment is configured, download the driver file. Here:

When downloading, pay attention to your own corresponding version, which is also 32-bit or 64-bit. You can also download the readme text during downloading. You can take a look at the official guidance file, we also follow what it says for installation.

Download and decompress the package to the directory. For example, if it is a wlan, create a new wlan directory and decompress the downloaded file to it.

# mkdir wlan# tar zxvf hybrid* -C wlan

Now that the file has been decompressed, go to the wlan directory and make the file. If the file is successfully decompressed, it will be nice. I am reporting an error. If there is an alarm, make it according to the official documentation, haha

# make clean# make API=WEXT

This time we should have succeeded. We have generated wl. ko, the file we want to use, and now put the wl. ko file in the startup kernel. Note that the core version numbers may be different.

PS: If there is no directory or file error in build when making, restart the system.

# cp wl.ko /lib/modules/2.6.32-358.11.1.el6.i686/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/

Now load the driver module into the kernel

# depmod -a# modprobe lib80211# insmod /lib/modules/2.6.32-358.11.1.el6.i686/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/wl.ko

Check whether the load is successful.

# iwconfig

If you see it, the order may be different. It's almost the same.

This indicates that the load is successful. Now you can enable it.

# ifconfig eth1 up

In this case, you can use the wireless mesh. If it is unavailable after restart and requires manual re-enabling, try this

# echo modeprobe wl >> /etc/rc.local

It is used to load the driver module to the kernel at startup.

Experience: Linux is not a windows system after all, and some operations are relatively complicated, but there are still a lot of online materials. Many netizens share their experiences and experiences. We can take a look and try more, generally, there is no problem to solve. If not, try posting on the forum.

This is also the final result of searching for information and finding out how to use it normally. I have referred to the following materials from netizens. I would like to thank them here.
