Comparison between Perl, Python, Ruby, and JavaScript

Ruby, I was just engaged in ror development for a company. I only made a simple module and did not continue to participate in the project due to time issues, therefore, Ruby is also stuck in BASIC language understanding.
But it gave me a good impression. Perhaps it is because it is the latest in comparison to the above two languages. It should absorb the advantages of many predecessors, which are easy to use and powerful.

After checking the data for a long time, I still don't know which one to choose. Of course, every learning point is not a problem, but now I want to find a key research object to reach the level of proficiency.

Although JavaScript has the largest demand, it is not suitable for the work I want to do, so I will not consider it.

Well, Perl is the oldest. python is centered and Ruby is the youngest. Considering the syntax characteristics of the language itself, Perl is the most obscure, and both Python and Ruby are neat.
