Connect a Linux host using putty on Windows

Overview:

Originally did not want to write this blog, because the content is not rich, technical is not so avantgarde, but thought may also have a lot of friends will also encounter with me the same problem, then take some time to tidy up. Hope can help you, too.

Pre-preparatory work:

1. Two PCs (one Windows, one Linux, I use the older CentOS 5.8)

2. One VMware virtual machine

3. Putty (looks like people prefer to putty this way)

Connection steps:1. Build a Linux network environment

There are three ways to connect (bridging, NAT, host-only) using the Linux operating system under VM virtual machines. These three kinds of nets are not understood here. If you are interested, you can consult the information to get the knowledge you want. However, because we want to use VMware to create a new virtual server within the LAN to provide network services for LAN users, you should choose bridging mode. Of course, bridging the word to hear is not a tall feeling. Because I network knowledge is not strong, so at the beginning of this word quite a bit of favor. However, this affection did not bring me much smooth sailing. Just as I switched the CentOS 7 running on the VM from NAT mode to bridging mode, the Web was not connected to Linux, and the use of ifconfig was not reversed. This makes me have some accidents, although knowing that the Linux road is not so smooth, but there will always be some hope is to let us take a few steps to achieve the goal, this is actually the lazy in the heart to do strange.

Well, in that case, I won't have you. This CentOS 7 is, I changed the lower version of CentOS 5.8. Because I heard that this version of the bug is relatively small, and my machine run 7 is not so easy, changed 5.8 really suddenly smooth a lot. You can connect remotely after swapping, but I think the reason for the previous bridging failure may be that you need to set it up before you create a new virtual machine.

When I bridge the settings before I create a new virtual machine, the newly created virtual machine does not have the Ifconfig setting to automatically connect to the network. As follows:

Use of 2.putty

1. Enter the host name or the IP address of the host

2.SSH protocol Default port number 22 (no modification required here)

3. Fill in saved sessions with a name for the distinction (usually using an IP address)

4. Save the above settings to ensure that later use is more convenient (of course, you can not save, then the above information will not be retained, the next use need to reset)

5. Click Open to connect, if not unexpected, then OK.
