DB2 Automatic Installation

 

Scope of use:

 

Install the DB2 client on multiple machines

You need to embed the DB2 database server into your application, and install the DB2 database server while installing this application.

 

 

How to Create a response file:

 

1: During the installation of DB2 express-c, the first step allows you to save the installation information to the response file.

 

 

 

 

The generated file is: PROD_EXPC.rsp. The basic content is as follows:

 

 

 

 

2: After installation, in the db2 command window, use the command db2rspgn-d c: \ 1 to generate a response file sample (. rsp suffix) in the c drive 1 folder)

File generated in directory 1: db2expc. rsp file, which can be opened by using notepad or other programs. The basic file content is as follows:

Response File Usage

 

In Windows: Use setup-u c: \ 1 \ db2expc. rsp

 

In Linux: Use db2setup-r <rsp File>

 

 

 

 

 

Appendix: db2rspgn parameter (this command can only be run in Windows)

 

 

-D

Destination directory for a response file and any instance files. This parameter is required.

-I

A list of instances for which you want to create a profile. The default is to generate an instance profile file for all instances. This parameter is optional.

-Noctlsrv

Indicates that an instance profile file will not be generated for the Control Server instance. This parameter is optional.

-Nodlfm

Indicates that an instance profile file will not be generated for the Data Links File Manager instance. This parameter is optional.
