This article is used to illustrate the installation steps of DB2 v9.7 in Linux environment.
Environment Description:
Hardware environment: Lenovo E440, i7, 12GB, 500GB;
Virtual Appliance: VMWare WorkStation + RHEL5.6 X64;
Installed product: IBM DB2 v9.7;
First, the preparatory work
First, the DB2 v9.7 installation media uploaded to the server, and decompression;
Currently, the installation media of the DB2 v9.7 on hand is "v9.7fp6_linuxx64_server.tar.gz", which is extracted using the following command:
tar -zxvf v9.7fp6_linuxx64_server. tar. GZ
When the decompression is completed, a directory named server is generated in the sibling directory, and the server directory can be switched to the installation command.
Second, start the IBM DB2 v9.7 installation program
Note: This installation is using the root user;
1, switch to the installation directory;
2. Perform installation "Db2_install" installation command;
In the installation root directory, there is a file called "Db2_install", execute the file to open the installation interface;
./db2_install
3. Select "Install a Product" in the left-hand option of the DB2 Setup Launchpad installation interface;
4. Select the specific version in the right panel and click the "Install New" button on the lower part of the corresponding version to perform the installation;
This installation selects "DB2 Enterprise Server Edition Version 9.7 Fix Pack 6";
III. implementation of the IBM DB2 v9.7 installation process
1, click the Next button in the introduction interface of the DB2 Setup interface to enter the subsequent installation interface;
2, in the Software License Agreement interface, select the "Accept" radio button, and then click on the Next button to enter the subsequent installation interface;
3, select "Typical (typical)" In the selection of installation type interface, then click Next button to enter the subsequent configuration interface;
4. Select the "Perform installation" option in the "Select installation, create response file, or both".
Select: Install DB2 Enterprise Server Edition on this computer;
Click the Next button to enter the subsequent configuration interface;
5, in the "Select Installation Path" interface, configure the DB2 installation path;
The default path is:/opt/ibm/db2/v9.7
After confirming click Next button to enter the subsequent configuration interface;
6, in whether to install the SAMP interface, select "does not install SAMP (does not installed SAMP)";
After confirming click Next button to enter the subsequent configuration interface;
7, enter the administrator's password in the Configuration DB2 administrator interface;

8, in the configuration DB2 instance interface, select the "Create DB2 instance" option;
9. Select "Separate partition instance (single partition Instance)" In DB2 partition option interface;
After confirming click Next button to enter the subsequent configuration interface;
10, Set DB2 instance user information;

Enter the password and click on the Next button to enter the subsequent configuration interface;
11, set DB2 configuration user information;

Enter the password and click on the Next button to enter the subsequent configuration interface;
12. In the "Prepare the DB2 Tools Catalog" interface, select "Do not Prepare the DB2 tools catalog";
13, in the Settings reminder screen Select Do not remind;
14, in the summary interface to see if the configuration information is correct, confirm the error click the "Finish" button to perform the installation;
15, the implementation of product installation, create instances and configuration instances;
16, if the following interface appears, it represents DB2 installation success;
17, switch user to Db2inst1, execute db2cc command to open Control Center, view instance information;
18, DB2 v9.7 installation completed;
