Debugging:
In SQL query-Object Browser-stored procedure-select the stored procedure to be debugged-right-click-select debug) -input parameters-> -- after setting your parameter values-click to execute, a floating toolbar is displayed with single-step execution and breakpoint settings.

Suddenly remember to log in with a "Local SYSTEM account", while SQL server runs as a service and cannot debug the stored procedure. The solution is as follows:
Control Panel-> Administrative Tools-> services-> MSSQL (default ID)-> properties-> login-> select a Windows Account and enter the password, restart SQL Server 2000 to debug the stored procedure.
