On that day, I received a task to install an Oracle client with the sqlplus function in the local testing environment. The environment is HP-UX, anteng. I found out that the installation method provided on the Oracle official website is not comprehensive. There are some deployment methods on the Internet, and there are still a lot of people talking about this simple thing. Below I will record my deployment steps:
1. Create an oracle user on the host and modify the environment variables.
2. Download the appropriate client. On the Oracle official website, there should be two packages: one basic package and one with sqlplus package. Unzip the package to a folder in windows.
3. Upload the file to $ ORACLE_HOME.
4. Modify the. Profile of the Oracle user and write the directory of the file into LD_LIBRARY_PATH and path.
5. Run the command # .. Profile
6 # mkdir-p $ ORACLE_HOME/Network/admin. Here, create a tnsnames. ora and write the connection string in.
After these steps, you can start to use the Oracle client smoothly.
