A friend's computer system is running very slowly because it has been used for too long. At the weekend, he helped him reinstall a system. After all the patches, anti-virus software, and firewall are installed, my friends can't wait to connect to the Internet and open their favorite computer fan forums ...... Bad. Forgot the password! In the past, my friend only went online at home. In order to save things, I asked IE to automatically save the login passwords for all the forums. Because I had no need to enter the passwords for a long time, I couldn't even think of it.
Just as a friend was about to send a letter to the forum administrator, I suddenly remembered that I had used Ghost for a backup before reinstalling the system. So I patted my chest and said, "I will help you retrieve the lost password ." The author finds an old hard disk from the house to the computer, restores the old system to the old hard disk, then directs the system from the old hard disk, and then uses the following method to retrieve the password in the old system.
Tip: if you cannot find the second hard disk, you can use Ghost to back up the new system and restore the old system to the hard disk, after the password is recovered, restore the backed-up new system.
Internet Explorer
As the most widely used browser, ie does not retrieve the automatically saved password. Therefore, we need the help of the Protected Storage PassView software, it can automatically search for the IE browser's Automatic completion password, OE password, Outlook password, and MSN Explorer password. Anti-Virus Software of different vendors has different definitions of viruses. Some anti-virus software may kill them as viruses. We recommend that you temporarily disable the real-time monitoring function of anti-virus software before use.
After the software is turned on, all the usernames and passwords automatically saved by IE will be displayed on the main interface, and the password will be displayed directly on the entry (1 ).

If an entry only displays the user name but not the password, you can select the entry and click "View/display original data" in the menu ", you can also find the password on the webpage (2 ).

Firefox
Looking at a friend's satisfied expression, I told him that if the Firefox browser is used, there is no need for Protected Storage PassView, because Firefox itself has the ability to view passwords. If you have logged on to these forums using Firefox, you can use its built-in "Password Manager" to retrieve the password. Take the latest version 1.5.0.1 as an example. Click "tools/options" in the browser to bring up the "options" window and switch to the "Privacy/password" tab, the default setting in Firefox is "Remember password", so you don't have to worry about finding the password. Click "view Saved Password" to open the "Password Manager". The "Saved Password" tab displays the site and user name recorded by the Firefox browser, click "show password" and then click "yes" in the pop-up "OK" window to view the password (3 ).

Tip: Because the Firefox Password record file is stored in the system partition and Firefox is a green software, you can use Ghost to restore the system and view the password directly no matter which partition Firefox is installed in.
