This is an engine comparison chart on paradw.games, comparing the size of IOS apps generated by several engines.

Indeed, if the Pro version of unity is not used, the generated file should be at least 20 mb, And a package about 3 MB will be added after the app is submitted to Apple for authorization authentication.

Oolongengine is also an engine that I have been concerned about earlier. I learned it when I checked the powervr SDK, but it is difficult to use it because of the lack of tools. Torque downloaded an unauthorized copy earlier.CodeAnd it took a while. Of course it wasn't on the iOS platform yet, and it wasn't that ideal. The IOS apps generated by Flash CS have not been thoroughly understood.

For the engines listed above, unity is undoubtedly the easiest to use, especially for art personnel,ProgramIt is easy for people to start with. Oolong is just a simple SDK and has no tools. It only supports pod format Model import and scenario import made by blender, but it is still a little far from making a complete game, but it may be more friendly for programmers, because it is not as limited as unity everywhere.

Of course, both engines are 3D. In the current app store, it is still a 2D game that makes money. If you choose a 2D engine, it is another situation. In addition to the itorque and flash cs5 mentioned above, there are also cocos2d just acquired, in addition to a lot of games made using Corona, there are also game Editor, Sparrow, and Chinese development of the Cocos2d-X, they are all good choices.

The selection is based on the app type to be used. If there are not too complex scenarios, you can use image overlays. cocos2d can only be used as a code engine, make a simple level editor by yourself. If there are complicated scenarios, you 'd better choose unity, itorque and other engines with perfect production tools, but you only need to pay a license fee.
