In this article, I will introduce how to use the import/export wizard in SQL Server Management Studio 2008 R2 to export data from SQL Azure to a local machine, if you are worried that your data is stored in SQL Azure, it will be a data backup method that gives you peace of mind.

On our SQL Azure account, we have installed the Adventure Works database for testing for SQL Azure, which can be found at http://msftdbprodsamples.codeplex.com/releases/view/37304.

First, we need to connect SQL Server Management Studio 2008 R2 to SQL Azure. After the connection is completed, we need to run the SQL Server Import/Export Wizard of SQL Server Management Studio, the following describes how to import data from SQL Azure:

1. Connect to the local SQL Server database in SQL Server Management Studio. This document uses SQL Server Express Edition 2008 R2;

2. Create a new database named AdventureWorksDWAZ2008R2;

3. Right-click the database and select "all tasks" * "import data" from the right-click menu, as shown in;

4. The "SQL Server Import/Export wizard" dialog box will pop up;

5. Click "Next" to skip the start page;

6. Select a Data source on the next page of The Wizard window. In this demonstration, select "SQL Azure". The Data source to connect to SQL Azure is ". NET Framework Data Provider for SqlServer ";

7. scroll to the bottom of the property list and enter information about SQL Azure, as shown in;
