People who have just been familiar with ORACLE will feel helpless when they learn, how to learn, what tools are available, and what operations should they perform. So before learning to use ORACLE, first install ORACLE 10 Gb to master its basic tools. As the saying goes: to do good deeds, you must first sharpen your tools. Let's get started!

First, add the ORACLE 10g installation CD to the optical drive. If it runs automatically, the installation interface 1 appears:

Click "Start installation" to install ORACLE 10 Gb. Generally, check whether the system configuration meets the requirements. Then, the "Oracle DataBase 10 Gb installation" dialog box appears, as shown in Figure 2:

You can select "Basic installation" or "Advanced installation" when installing Oracle DataBase at 10 Gb. When "Basic installation" is selected, "Oracle main directory location" is used to specify the storage location of the Oracle DataBase 10 Gb software; the "installation type" is used to specify the installation type (Enterprise, standard, and personal) of Oracle products ). If you select "create startup Database", you must specify the global database name and password of the database user.

Select "Advanced installation" and click "Next". The "specify file dialog box" is displayed, showing the disk path of the Installation Product in the source path; the target name is used to specify the environment variables corresponding to the Oracle Home directory, and the target path is used to specify the target installation path for installing the Oracle software. Set the target name to OraDb10g_home1 and the target path to D: oracleproduct10.1.0db1. 3:

Click "Next" to load the Oracle product list. The "Select installation type" dialog box is displayed. 4:

When selecting the installation type, select "Enterprise Edition" and click "Next". The "select database configuration" dialog box appears. 5:

In the "select database configuration" dialog box, you can select whether to create and start a database. If you want to create a database, You must select the database creation type. Select "do not create start Database" and click "Next". The "summary" dialog box is displayed, as shown in 6:

Click "Install" to install the Oracle DataBase 10 Gb product. 7. Installation Process:

After installing the Oracle Database for 10 Gb, you must create a Database.

The Database Configuration Assistant is used to create databases, configure Database options, delete databases, and manage templates. If you have not created a database when installing Oracle database for 10 Gb, you can use the database configuration Assistant (DBCA) to create a database after installation.

There are two ways to create a database: the first is to run dbca directly under the command line; the second is to click the Start Menu: start => program => Oracle => oraDb10g_home1 => Configuration and Migration Tool => Database Configuration Assistant. 1:

Click "Next". The "operation" dialog box is displayed. This dialog box is used to perform database operations (Create a database, configure Database options, delete a database, and manage a template). 3:

If you create a database for the first time, you can only create a database and a management template. Select create database and click "Next". The database template dialog box is displayed. 4:

A database template is an XML file on a local hard disk used to store database configuration information.

Select "transaction processing" and click "Next". The database ID dialog box is displayed. This dialog box is used to set the global database name and routine name. 5:

The global database name in the format of db_name.db_domain. Db_name corresponds to the database name, And db_domain corresponds to the network domain name. SID (routine) should be exactly the same as db_name. 5 are set to: demo.

Click "Next". The "manage options" dialog box is displayed. Used to set OEM management information. 6:

To manage all Oracle databases in a centralized manner, select "Grid Control Database Management". If you only manage local databases, select "Use Database Control to manage databases ".

Select "Use Database Control to manage databases" and click "Next". The "Database Authentication" dialog box is displayed, which is used to set the password of the initial Database user account. 7:

To use the same password as SYS, SYSTEM, DBSNMP, and SYSMAN, select "all accounts use the same password ". Select "use different passwords" and set the User Password respectively: the password of SYS user is ORACLE, the password of SYSTEM user is MANAGER, and the password of DBSNMP user is DBSNMP, the password of the SYSMAN user is SYSMAN.

After setting the password, click "Next". The "Storage Options" dialog box is displayed. This dialog box is used to specify the storage mechanism (file system, automatic storage management, and bare device) of the database:

Select "File System" and click "Next". The "database file location" dialog box is displayed, which is used to specify the storage location of database files. 9:

Select "use the database file location in the template" and click "Next". The "recovery configuration" dialog box is displayed. This dialog box is used to specify the database recovery options. 10:

The quick recovery area is used to recover data to avoid data loss when the system fails. archive is enabled to set the database to ARCHIVELOG mode, so that the database data can be completely restored when the database fails.

Click "Next". The "database content" dialog box is displayed, which specifies whether to install the sample scheme and run the custom script. 11:

Click "Next". The "initialization parameters" dialog box is displayed. This dialog box configures initialization parameters, database character sets, and connection modes. 12:

After the database is created, the SYSTEM locks all users except SYS, SYSTEM, DBSNMP, and SYSMAN. SCOTT user should be used in the future, so after clicking the "password management" button, unlock SCOTT user, 18:
