Azure was released in March: HDInsight's Apache Hadoop and ExpressRoute ultra-high-performance gateway layer were officially released, and SQL Database Premium RS layer was released in public preview version.
Azure HDInsight runs on Apache Hadoop in Linux and is officially released
Apache Hadoop is now officially released. You can select a Linux cluster when deploying a workload. Now, you can more easily transfer existing Hadoop workloads to a set of scalable clouds that host Hadoop open source big data components in Azure.
Azure updates, monitors, and operates Hadoop-hosted Linux clusters in HDInsight, so you can focus on queries and data without having to focus on computer management or Hadoop patching. As a officially announced service, HDInsight complies with the Azure service level agreement (SLA) and guarantees a 99.9% compliance rate. This means that we will keep monitoring around the clock and ensure the running time of your cluster. The Linux cluster running HDInsight is created on the Ubuntu and Hortonworks data platforms (HDP). You can deploy it now.
Azure ExpressRoute ultra-high performance gateway layer officially released
ExpressRoute high-performance gateway is now officially released. It connects the virtual network to the Azure ExpressRoute line, providing five times the network throughput of the high-performance gateway. Now you can deploy more network-intensive workloads in your virtual network.
New Azure SQL Database Premium RS layer released public preview version
Azure SQL Database Premium RS is now available in public preview, designed for IO-intensive workloads that accept limited durability assurance and low SLA. For pricing details, visit the SQL database pricing page. Premium RS Target solutions include using in-memory technology for development, testing high-performance workloads, and production analysis workloads.
