Create a site column using Visual Stuidio 2010

Creating Site columns using Visual stuidio 2010 project templates in Visual Stuidio 2010 make it easy to create site columns/content types and lists.
1. Administrator open Visual Stuidio 2010 and create a new project. 2. Select the blank SharePoint project and name Myfirstlistdefinition. 3. Deploy the farm solution and click Finish. 4. Right-click the project and add New item. 5. Select the empty element, name CustomerType, and click Add. 6. Add the following bold code to the Elements.xml file.
7. Click F6 to build the solution and deploy the solution after success. 8. Navigate to the SharePoint site, Site actions-Site Settings--Libraries--site columns. You will see this customer type site column. 9. Click the Customers list (for example)--List settings--Add an existing site column. 10. Select customer Type in the Customers group and click Add. Click OK.
11. Create a new item in the list.
12. Click Save to view the list.
