On Monday, at the Wind River user seminar, the company announced an upgrade to its workbench development tools. Workbench is a development software opposite to montavista and a key component of Embedded Computing Technology. Currently, workbench can be used to configure the Linux of montavista and embed Linux into various network devices.
For this line of Wind River, we hopeProgramDevelopers using their own devrocket development tools did not show a passive attitude. As mentioned by montavista, the claim of Wind River to Conference participants is only to let people accept the fact that montavista is dedicated to Linux, however, Wind River disperses these energies between Linux and its proprietary VxWorks operating system.
"Recently, vendors entering the Linux market showed that they do not know much about Linux ." The separation of energy between VxWorks and Linux shows that Wind River plans to use another open-source operating system BSD, said montavista.
This is not the first time the two companies have slander each other. In a recent interview, Wind River's chief executive Ken Klein compared montavista to a bruised rat. He said: "montavista is already a unlucky red-eye cat, they have made too many mistakes in business operation models."
Wind River workbench can also be used in Wind River Linux, while Wind River Linux is a standard Linux core that can be downloaded from kernel.org and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
