GuideAs part of the Red Hat Developer Program, we now provide a free RHEL subscription. Yes, you are not mistaken!
Members of the developer program can now get a free set of Red Hat Enterprise Linux licenses. The RHEL Development Kit will provide programmers with a stable development platform for building Enterprise applications. Red Hat developers and subscription members can also get a set of Red Hat JBoss middleware copies for free. Of course, this is only (limited) for development and subscription in non-production environments.
If you are building a local application or microservice, The New Red Hat Developer subscription will allow you to access the Container Development tool and resource set-Red Hat Container Development Kit (CDK ).
CDK users will also have the opportunity to obtain RHEL Server and OpenShift Enterprise for Development local desktop instances. Their complete Development tools include:
- RHEL 7 Server
- Development tools and long-term support: provides basic tools for major RHEL versions: Operating Systems (10 years), Python, PHP, Ruby, OpenJDK 7 (1.7), OpenJDK 8 (1.8) and so on.
- Long-term update of development tools: the stable version of open-source programming languages, databases, Web servers and development tools are updated each year, as well as the Red Hat Software Collection and development toolbox.
