In the lab, we are preparing to install Oracle 11 GB, and the system is Fedora 10. We have solved several problems and shared them.
First, let's talk about the preparations:
Create an oracle user. I have added an oracle group and a dba group to the group to which the oracle user belongs. If these two groups do not exist (in this case, I will create one.
The following is my problem:
Check temporary space: it must be greater than 80 MB. Actually 1223 MB passed
Check swap space: it must be greater than 150 MB. Actually 3098 MB passed
Check the monitor: The monitor configuration must display at least 256 colors
>>> The command/usr/bin/xdpyinfo cannot be used to automatically check the display color. Check whether the DISPLAY variable is set. Failed <
Some requirements are not passed. These requirements must be met first,
Then you can continue the installation. At that time, you will re-check these requirements.
Continue? (Y/n) [n] y
The process of online data query in the middle is skipped ......
Reasons:
I log on to the system using a common user, and then su to root and oracle to process some file copy and decompression work.
The installation starts from su to oracle.
I thought of the. profile file that the teacher mentioned to me during the training, so I went to the oracle user directory ls-a, and there was no such file.
The first step is to create a new file and paste it into the file.
Then, the Crl + Alt + Backspace is logged out and logged on to the system as an oracle user.
Go to the oracle Installation Directory
./RunInstaller, do it!
[Oracle @ fc-lenovo database] $./runInstaller
Starting Oracle Universal Installer...

Check temporary space: it must be greater than 80 MB. Actually 128433 MB passed
Check swap space: it must be greater than 150 MB. Actually 4031 MB passed
Check the monitor: The monitor configuration must display at least 256 colors. Actually passed 16777216
Prepare to start Oracle Universal Installer/tmp/OraInstall2009-03-09_04-37-21PM from the following address. Please wait... [oracle @ fc-lenovo database] $ Locking assertion failure. Backtrace:

However, I also encountered another situation, that is, when the installation check is executed, the operating system version is not supported,
The required versions are blabla, RedHat4, redhat5, balbal ......
The system version is not actually redhat10, ft
Modified the etc/redhat-release file: (I added red)
# Fedora release 10 (Cambridge)
Redhat-5
But it's useless. I forced the installation to continue, and ignored the warning.
