Kali linux 2.0 implements scientific Internet access through host machine proxy

One of the biggest problems with using kali linux is that it cannot smoothly download and update resources from the official resource library.

Now in China, the solution is to first find other unofficial update sources, then download the updates, and then install openvpn (2.0 has been installed by default), and then scientifically access the internet. However, the update source is not always so powerful. At this time, it will be in an endless loop. If it is not updated, it will not be able to access the Internet scientifically. If it is unable to access the Internet scientifically, it will not be able to update and use certain functions. It is really a painful exception. Even if the update source works at some point in time, we can be patient with the Downloading speed, but that doesn't mean everything is fine.

For example, if I want to install "Blue Light" on kali, first install python, then install g ++, then install checkinstall, then install fakeroot, and then install and download the node js source code, compile, install, then download, compile, and install golang 1.6, then install pkg-config, then download the blue light source code, then compile, and then Nima! An error occurred while compiling. Then I started to install gtk + again, and then told me that the version was in conflict and could not be installed. Then I went crazy.

Errors may occur at any stage. But how can we solve the problem of scientific Internet access smoothly? At least it is much easier to go online scientifically on windows. Here we use blue light as an example.

1.1 download and install the blue light

Project address: https://github.com/getlantern/lantern. Open the address in the browser and find the following location,

Click the mouse and then click Download.

A beautiful lamp is on your desktop. Double-click the lamp to open the browser automatically.

By default, the blue light starts the system proxy, and the browser automatically uses the system proxy to access the Internet. Let's look at the effect:

There is a configuration button in the lower right corner of the blue light startup page:

If the "set system proxy" option is selected and not checked on the local machine, it will not affect much. In order to smoothly apply my solution, you need to check it out, that is, the default browser does not go to the blue light proxy. If you need to go, manually configure it.

1.2 configure fiddler

Next, it's my favorite secret. It's time for fiddler to come out.

Start fiddler and choose tools-fiddlerOptions.

Switch to the Connections tab.

Check "Run remote host connection". Remember that the port number is 8888. Switch to the Gateway tab.

In manual proxy configuration, enter the proxy port on the blue light.

Now that the configuration of fiddler is complete, configure kali 2.0 below.

1.3 configure kali linux 2.0

Enable the network configuration option.

Enter the LAN ip address and port number of the host where fiddler is located in the network proxy.

Now we have forwarded data from Kali linux2.0 to fiddler and Fiddler to the blue light. Now we can open a browser in kali to try it.

Conclusion 1.4

Now, you can have a question: Why do you need to transfer from Fiddler instead of taking the blue light proxy directly. It is indeed possible to directly go to the blue light, but it is troublesome to modify the configuration of the blue light. In addition, this method is more practical if the host machine has a vpn connection. On this basis, there is no obstacle to updating the system and installing tools!
