Linux Desktop installation and linux Desktop Installation

Two types of desktops "gnome desktop" and "KDE Plasa Workspaces" are provided in CentOS 7. We will install "gnome desktop" as an example.

1. Attach a cd (set up a local yum source or use a network yum source)

[Root @ localhost/] # mount/dev/cdrom/media/cdrom/
Mount:/dev/sr0 write protection, which will be mounted in read-only mode

2. Install the Desktop

Because the desktop contains too many files, it is divided into an environment group. Therefore, we directly use the yum command to install this group.

[Root @ localhost/] # yum groupinstall "GNOME Desktop" # The package will be downloaded for a while, so please wait ......

Use init 5 desktop after installation

[Root @ localhost/] # yum groupinstall

The init command sets the running level.

Here we will talk about the linux running level

1: Maintenance by root only
2: multiple users, cannot use net file system
3: more users
5: Graphical
4: Security Mode
6: restart
