The release of Linux Mint is only a few weeks away, but the popular Linux distribution is already planning its next version of the project. In fact, last week, project leader Clement Lefebvre has released a roadmap for Linux Mint 15, but the nickname for that version has not yet been set. The release has been at the forefront of the DistroWatch rankings for the past year or so.
Three new features are included in the roadmap for Linux Mint 15
1. Cinnamon 1.8
The Cinnamon desktop environment, which looks like Gnome 2, has been launched for a year, and the next version of Linux Mint will use cinnamon 1.8. It also has an action API, Disk Manager, file Preview, and improvements to the user interface.
2. Nemo 1.8
Nemo is the default file manager for Cinnamon, a branch of Nautilus (Nautilus) that will rise to version 1.8 in the next release.
3. MDM 1.2
The Mint display manager will rise to version 1.2 in the new edition, and will bring you the ability to do so. For example, a theme around a text box will have boundaries.
Other new features of Linux Mint 15 will include user interface improvements for software management, as well as a new screensaver and driver manager.
Tips:
The Linux Mint distribution based on Ubuntu is released two times a year. The current "Nadia" (Nadia) version was released in November.
