A senior executive of Microsoft recently said that it is an absurd idea to regard Linux as a security platform, according to a report from the Internet on September January 30. In fact, the development form and process of the Linux operating system just buy security risks.

Nick McGrath, head of the platform strategy department of Microsoft UK, said in an exclusive interview with vnunet.com that the "Security myth" of the Linux operating system will soon be broken. Then, consumers will be aware of the immaturity of the Linux operating system.

NickMcGrath said that at present, Linux's "Security myth" mainly focuses on two aspects: first, Linux is more secure than Windows; second, there is no virus invading the Linux operating system.

In this regard, McGrath asked: "Who is responsible for Linux kernel security? Can the red hat company? No, because red hat is also a version of Linux. For Windows systems, Microsoft is responsible for their security ."

In addition, open source code collectively claims that thousands of programmers are engaged in the development of Linux kernel. But in fact, there are only several hundred people. "If you look up the developers who develop the Linux kernel tree, only a few people are engaged in this job," McGrath said ."

At present, although some users have started to deploy the Linux system, this is only prior to the trial run. Linux has not become the mainstream because of the lack of corresponding solutions. McGrath said: "Most users require not only simple products, but a complete set of solutions ."

McGrath also says that currently, Linux is not applicable to key task computing. Because Linux still lacks some fundamental content, for example, there is no single development environment, and there is no "single-point login" system.
