Desktop environment:
Os:win7
Virtual machine software: VMware Workstation 10.0.1 build-1379776
Task: The CentOS system installed on the virtual machine VMware9 is migrated to VMware10.
The following conclusions are drawn from the test:
1. Migrating from a Linux system installed on a VMware virtual machine to another operating system on a VMware virtual machine can run successfully, but only if the two virtual machines have the same version.
2. Migrating a Linux system installed on a VMware9 virtual machine to another operating system VMware10 virtual machine, and upgrading the previous system of the virtual machine to VMware10 hardware compatibility, from the theoretical and practical high version compatible with the low version is no problem, but the actual run-time good card.
It is recommended that the operating system installed on the virtual machine be migrated to a different system, using the same version of the virtual machine as possible to avoid slow running issues , in theory, it should be normal for a system to migrate to a higher version of VMware virtual machines on a low-version virtual machine, and sometimes the actual run-of-the-environment tests are not.
