Oracle 10g installation in Windows 7

 

After some hard work, I finally got to install oracle in win7. I 'd like to share the process and notes.

I.Preparation steps

Obtain the Oracle 10g installer or download the CD image from the Oracle technical network (OTN. During the evaluation phase, you can download and use full-featured oracle without technical restrictions for free, but you need to purchase legal authorization for formal commercial applications. : Http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/oracle10g/index.html

You need about 1.2 GB of disk space for download and decompression, and more than 2 GB of disk space for installation.

II. Oracle 10g installation procedure

Run the decompressed Oracle 10g Installer

Select Advanced Installation, And press Next stepButton

Select Standard Edition, And press Next stepButton

Specify the target name and path of the main directory (usually do not need to change), and press Next stepButton

If the overall result is not "pass", check your prerequisite configuration ), Next stepButton

Select Create a database, And press Next stepButton

Select General Purpose, And press Next stepButton

EnterGlobal Database Name:

• For an independent server that does not use directory services (such as Active Directory), the global database name does not need to contain a domain name suffix (the default value is orcl)
• For domain servers that use directory services (such as Active Directory), the global database name must contain the domain name suffix (such as orcl.compieretraining.org)

 

 

After setting the parameters according to the preceding requirementsNext stepButton

Specifies the backup and recovery options (use the default options) Disable Automatic Backup), Press Next stepButton

To simplify the database password settings for evaluation, selectAll accounts use the same password, Enter the password of a user such as system (the password should not start with a number), and pressNext stepButton

After several minutes of File Installation, the Database Configuration assistant is executed.

After the data library is created, press OKButton

Configuration assistant is running

After the installation is complete, pressExitButton

Done! Press YesButton to exit the installer

3. Test whether the installation is successful

To test whether the data installation is successful, you canIn orderPerform the following two steps:

Test procedure1:Run the following command:Tnsping orcl

The preceding command assumes that the global database name is orcl. The following is an example of command execution:

If this result is not displayed, do not proceed to the next step. Check:

• Use Oracle Net configuration assistant to check network configuration (netca command)
• Use Database Configuration assistant to check database configuration (dbca command)

Test Step 2:Run the following command:Sqlplus system/password @ orcl

The above command assumes that the password of the System user is password, and the global database name is orcl.

The following is an example after the command is executed (enter the red text manually ):
