Windows 64-bit installed Oracle 11g 64-bit, Plsql developer uses the following issues:
1. The Database drop-down box is empty:
2, mandatory input user name, password and database, login popup:
Initialzation errorcould not Initialize "...." Make sure you have the-bits Oracle Client installed. Oraclehomekey:oraclehomedir: ... Found:oci.dllUsing: ... Loadlibrary (...) Returned 0
Description Plsql developer does not support Oracle 64-bit client connections.
Workaround:
1. Download 32-bit Oracle Client
In fact, you can download the free installation version, http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/topics/winsoft-085727.html, I downloaded is instantclient-basic-nt-11.2.0.2.0.zip.
2. Decompression
Unzip the Instantclient-basic-nt-11.2.0.2.0.zip, for example to D:\instantclient_11_2
3, set Plsql Developer
Start Plsql Developer, no sign-in point to cancel into Plsql developer,tools->>preferences:
Oracle Home: oradb11g_home1 (found here seems to be able to write casually, I filled in the installation of Oracle 11g 64-bit)
OCI Library: D:\instantclient_11_2\oci.dll
4. Add Environment variables
Tns_admin->> D:\app\YangJin\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\NETWORK\ADMIN
Chinese garbled problem:
Start Plsql Developer, login found Chinese table name garbled:
Workaround:
Add environment variable: Nls_lang->> american_america. UTF8
