Unlike the Photoshop internal filter, the external filter must be installed by the user. There are two ways to install an external filter: one is to encapsulate the external filter that can be installed by the installer, and the other is to directly put the filter file in the directory.
The method for installing a filter is simple. copy the filter file and its affiliated files to "Photoshop \ PlugIns. First, find the directory where the filter is located, such as the filter directories produced by different companies under PlugIns under the root directory of the disc. go to these directories and you will find that apart from the filter files 8bf and 8bi, there are also some help files, asf, dll and other files. the general installation file is to copy the directory together to the Photoshop filter Directory. The next time you enter Photoshop, open the Fitler menu, you will find the newly installed filter. In addition, to save space, you can copy the filter file in the filter directory to the filter directory in Photoshop, but note the following: when copying a filter, check whether the filter is attached to the dll file or asf file of the dynamic link library. if the filter is not copied completely, the filter cannot be used normally. In addition, before copying a single filter file, write down the file name first. if it cannot be used normally after entering Photoshop next time, you can delete it to save hard disk space.
On the contrary, installing the encapsulated filter is much simpler. you only need to select the Photoshop filter directory during installation. you can use it after entering Photoshop next time! For example, if the installation plug-in filter is KPT3.0, double-click the installation program and follow the prompts of the installation program, the installation program will prompt you to select the Photoshop filter Directory ();
As shown in, select the filter directory under Photoshop in the dialog box. The uninstallation of these filters is very convenient. you only need to execute the "add/delete programs" tool under the control panel.
Finally, the most easily overlooked problem is that if too many filters are installed, the efficiency of Photoshop execution will be affected and the speed of image processing will be slow. To solve this problem, the filters used in Photoshop can be stored in other directories. to change the Directory, run the File \ Preferences \ Plug-Ins & Scratch Disks command, the filter properties dialog box () is displayed ();
Press the "Choose" button to change the storage location of the Photoshop filter. if you use too many filters (for example, use all the filters under the PlugIns directory of the disc ), you can consider using this method to classify filters and store them in different directories. to use them, you only need to reset the filter directory in the filter properties dialog box.
Note: The installed filter is valid only when you enter Photoshop again!
