In the operation of Linux system, often encounter a variety of operations due to careless, operational errors and other behavior caused by data loss, we can use Extundelete to recover data.
First, the preparation before the experiment
- Create a new disk
In the Virtual Machine Settings window, locate "Hard disk", click "Add",
In the Add Hardware wizard window that opens, select Hard disk, click Next,
Next, we'll select "Next" directly by default, until you finally select "Done",
2. Restart the system, we can restart the system with the Init 6 command.
3. Hard disk Partitioning
4. Formatting partitions
5. Create a mount point and mount the disk
After the disk is ready to complete, the next step is to install the Restore tool.
Second, install Data Restore tool
1. Install three software environment packages before installing the recovery tool
After the disk is ready to complete, the next step is to install the Restore tool.
Second, install Data Restore tool
1. Install three software environment packages before installing the recovery tool
- Unzip the Restore tool into the/OPT directory
- CD to the/OPT directory, at this point we see the understanding of the Restore tool, and then into the Extundelete Restore tool directory, enter./configure (if you do not have GCC gcc-c++ will be an error, install it)
- To compile
Once the compilation is complete, the installation steps are complete and then tested.
Three Experimental test
1. Create three files on a mounted hard drive
2. Delete Two of the files, at which point there is only one file left in the file.
3. Then remove the disk mount
- Recovering using the Restore software
5. At this point in the current directory, a Recovered_files folder appears, enter the folder, you can see the files we deleted earlier here. At this point our experiment is successful!
